The new address for 43-year-old DMK MP Kanimozhi is a small cell at Tihar Jail from her mansion in Chennai. DMK MP Kanimozhi was taken from Patiala House court to Tihar Jail in connection with 2G spectrum case, in New Delhi on Friday (20th May, 2011). Along with Kanimozhi, Kalaignar TV MD Sharad Kumar was also sent to Tihar jail and were asked to be present at the court tomorrow (21st May, 2011) for the hearing : Special CBI Judge OP Saini declared.
The court also disregarded the statements of witnesses in the court, as most of the witnesses were employees of Kalinger TV and are biased. The DMK Family broke down as the the judge declared his verdict.
“Considering the magnitude of the crime and the fact that many of the witnesses are employees of Kalaignar TV, there is every apprehension that the witnesses may be influenced, if the accused are released on bail.”

The court also rejected bail plea of Kanimozhi and Sharad Kumar. CBI had chargesheeted Kanimozhi on 25th April 2011, stating her involvement in taking bribe of Rs 200 crore, which was routed to Kalaignar TV, in which she had 20 percent stake. They will have to remain at jail till the end of the case
2 G Spectrum scam is nation’s biggest corruption scandal ( Rs 1,70,000 crore), involving hot shots of Indian political arena Mr A Raja (Union Cabinet Minister for Communications and Information Technology), DMK MP Kanimozhi (Daughter of DMK Chief Karunanidhi), and many other bureaucrats. A Raja (Telecom Minister) is already in Tihar Jail.
