Taminadu Local body elections results 2011 has been announced and the ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) wins civic polls on own steam in Tamil Nadu. AIADMK Leader Mr. Saidai Sa. Duraisamy Says,”This victory is owed to one factor, which is Amma’s governance over the past five months. This was an election in which each party contested on its own strength, and without any misuse of power, and the AIADMK proved its acceptance among the people across the state”.
The polling for the Tamil Nadu civic election 2011 was conducted in tow phases on Oct 17 and 19, to elect 112,000 representatives. The 10 major cities in the state – Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Tirunelvelli, Tiruchirapalli, Tuticorin and Vellore — would have AIADMK mayors. The elections saw all the major political parties in the state — AIADMK, DMK and Congress — contesting alone while the DMDK fought with the support of two Communist parties.
The AIADMK shot into the lead early in a majority of the places and continued to extend its lead over rivals like the DMK, DMDK and PMK.
