After the bail of Kanimozhi was rejected by the Delhi High court , Rajathi Ammal, the mother of Kanimozhi was filled with tears as she comes out of the court. Kanimozhi has been sent to jail for the huge 2G scam case.
Kanimozhi the MP from the DMK had been accused In the 2G scam case for accepting a bribe of Rs. 214-crore. She was accused of accepting bribe alsong with A Raja who is also in the jail and is also from the same party.
“Considering the political and financial clout of the accused, the possibility of them tampering with evidence and influencing witnesses, the magnitude of the offence they’ve been charged with, their bail pleas are dismissed,”
said the judge.
The bail of Sharad Kumar, who co-owns a TV channel with Kanimozhi in Chennai was also rejected by the high court.
She was arrested in May and the CBI is investigating the case. The 2G scam is considered as the biggest scam in Indian histoty. The Judge also said
“There’s prima facie evidence to suggest they were beneficiaries and received illegal gratification.”
Kanimozhi’s lawyer has given the bail appeal on the basis of that there is no one in her house to look after her young son. Her husband has to move abroad in case of his work.
