India won World Cup again after 28 years under Captain-ship of Dhoni. To congratulate the Indian cricket team for winning the World Cup, Jharkhand Congress demanded Indian Captain MS Dhoni be conferred ‘Bharat Ratna‘, whereas Maharashtra assembly also passed a resolution on Tuesday that batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar & the country’s highest civilian award.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan said “We will recommend that the Centre confer Tendulkar with the Bharat Ratna” whereas Jharkhand Congress President Pradeep Balmuch told “We will write to the Central government to confer the Bharat Ratna on Dhoni.”
Mr. Balmuch met Dhoni’s parents and congratulated them.
Chavan announced that the state government will honour players from Maharashtra Sachin Tendulkar and Zaheer Khan with a cash prize of Rs one crore and a citation. Similarly, two members of the team’s support staff Mayank Parekh (logistics manager) and Ramesh Mane (masseur) will be honoured with Rs 50 lakh each.
Bharat Ratna is the Republic of India’s highest civilian award, awarded for the highest degrees of national service. This service includes artistic, literary, and scientific achievements, as well as “recognition of public service of the highest order.
The main winners are Jawaharlal Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Indira Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela, A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, Lata Mangeshkar.
Now the question arises in my mind; “Is Dhoni & Tendulkar Fits For Bharat Ratna Award???”
