Demi God Sathya Sai Baba breathed his last today (Sunday, April 24th, 2011) at 7:40 am. Sathya Sai Baba suffered a major cardiac arrest, he was going multi organ failure treatment . Doctors confirmed that Sai Baba’s all vital organs stopped working, and he suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday morning, he was 85 years of age.

Sathya Sai Baba’s body will be kept for darshan at Sai Kulwant Hall in Puttaparthi for two days, for devotees to pay their homage to Baba’s. Millions of his devotees world over were praying speedy recovery of Satya Sai Baba, but Baba’s health had worsen more and he stopped responding to treatment being administered  to him, he was on ventilator support for few days.

Sathya Sai Baba claimed himself to be reincarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba. Born Sathyanarayana Raju November 23, 1926 in Puttaparthi, his devotees claimed he started singing Sanskrit verses, of which he had no knowledge, one day in March 1940 after being apparently stung by a scorpion.

Sai Baba’s devotees included many influential people around the world also. Indian Cricketing Legend Sachin Tendulkar is ardent follower, tweeted that he would not be celebrating his birthday, which is today 24th April.
