Semi-final Positions are set. Sri Lanka takes on New Zealand in Colombo in the 1st semi-final. India takes on their bitter rival Pakistan in Mohali in the 2nd semi-final. Winner of these matches will decide who will compete for the cup which counts.
My whole idea of writing this article is the thinking behind the ICC World Cup 2011 and the permutation combinations going on in the World Cup.You can say it as a coincidence or a perfect plan where the teams playing the quarterfinal played with their choice of team and venue. Pakistan never wanted to play in India and they got there by beating Australia in the last group match which also saw a 34 match unbeaten streak ending. That defeat of “The Aussies” came as surprise to majority of the cricket loving people.
India on the other hand, won’t have preferred either Pakistan or Sri Lanka in Semis. Thus, 2 remaining teams Australia and New Zealand. But they wanted to play their match in India also and what will be bigger than Australia India quarterfinal which was again with coincident or planning was in India. This game came up with a good money tag for Ahmedabad and media. (I am not inserting any quote of the bookies here).
South Africa played New Zealand in Bangladesh and everyone was shock to see the result of that game. Sri Lanka(again with coincident or planning) was in their own country playing against England. So many coincident occurring at the same time and now see the semi-final line up. India playing in India and Sri Lanka playing in Lanka.
For me this tournament( From my eyes ) is a sport competition for money rather than cricket. And I can give my facts regarding the same. When Sharad Pawar(head of BCCI and ICC now)was selected in elections for the post in ICC, as per ICC rules there were 2 people for the same post where they will serve the period one after the other. Mr. Pawar very smartly took the second half of this period in which the world cup was also following. So by doing this he could control each and every thing happening in the tournament.
Very few people know about this as this happened few years back.
Now for this World Cup, he has full control from ICC and also from BCCI.
India is the land of bookies and common man also indulges himself in search for easy money from cricket games. Mumbai the hub for business in India, is also the hub for bookies and you can call fixing also.
ICC has always been behind Pakistan for match fixing, spot fixing etc. So many players from Pakistan have been found guilty in this trade. Not to forget the famous allegations on Late Hansie Cronje and Mohammad Azzaruddin in series in India. That proved that bookies and fixing also exists in India.BCCI is the richest Cricket board in the world. Money in this world can control anything.
From my eyes I see it as a Money Racket then a game of Cricket.

Common man cannot buy a ticket of India’s match. It’s been proved with this tournament that tickets are been sold out way before expected. But all politicians and film stars have their ticket in advance.
Tickets are sold in Black, and that too with a receipt attached. That proves where the money is going. If you go back in the league matches, there were so many upsets, which might be triggered by money. For one instance, India England match, which ended in a tie. Everyone in the world now knows that Shane Warne twitted 5 hours before the match started that it will be a tie.
But very few people know about the fact that what happened in Mumbai that day.
In Mumbai like any other day, bookies were active in taking bookings on the match that who will win. Like every match they have opened trading for 2 possibilities, a India win or England win. But the surprising fact is, that only day there was one more column for a TIE.
TIE column was absent from all the matches till then. But in the morning people started betting for the TIE option also. (Optimists will say they took a leaf out of Warne’s book)

This part very few people know because media never brought this thing up. News hungry media, who are making news for the entertainment of public, they missed this news and never published through any medium. Still can’t understand the reason behind this. Does ICC not investigating this matter???????????? (Or a percentage is going there also)
Some unexpected results, unexpected collapses, but yea after studying this expected fixture list for the quarter finals and finals.
In the nation where people are crazy about cricket and supports Indian Cricket team blindly can never accept this that India is getting a clear run towards the final. And I can see winning them also.
One more fact which very few people know of:
When deciding on the venue for the final match, there was lot of discussions on done. But Wankhade was finalised as the venue. A stadium which is recently renovated, with a seating capacity of around 30k was given a chance to host the final.
India has Eden Gardens with a capacity of around 70k, Feroz shah kotla – capacity of around 40-50k, and Premdasa stadium on Colombo Sri Lanka has more capacity than Wankhade.
India has Eden Gardens with a capacity of around 70k, Feroz shah kotla – capacity of around 40-50k, and Premdasa stadium on Colombo Sri Lanka has more capacity than Wankhade.
When asked about this to the CEO of ICC, Mr. Harman Lorgat answered:
“final is conducted in Wankhade then any other ground because, it will be a perfect ending for Sachin Tendulkar to finish his career on a high with India winning the world cup. A fairy tell ending.”
So are the results already out??????????Or again Mr. Harman is thinking coincidences happen.
How many people are aware of this statement given by him? Does Indian Media has ever come forward to discuss on this?
Not only team India, even the Lankans are getting a clear shot to the final playing on their home turf only. All planned or coincident guys??????????
People will ask then why Pakistan and India clashing in semi-final stage?Ok guys let’s take a different feature of this World Cup also.
For matches in India, the ad space on TV is been sold at around 1.5 lacs for 10seconds. For IPL it is around 1.7-2.0lacs for 10seconds. For a India Pakistan Match, it has raised to 3.7lacs for 10seconds. So a great revenue coming out of this match. Everyone knows it is a big occasion when these 2 teams clash.
So why not cash it? Also politicians are coming in to watch this match as invitations from our PM has gone across the border. PM of Pakistan might come to watch this match in Mohali. So is it a good plan of drawing India against Pakistan in a World Cup Semi Final??????? You guys can answer it better.
I can’t see India losing in this match. India has never lost to Pakistan in a World Cup match. Also it is an easy tie for Sri Lanka against New Zealand in their backyard.
So a India Sri Lanka final. People will term it as revenge of 1996? As everything related to a cricket match is some revenge for Indian Team. Beating Aussies is revenge of 2003 and now Sri Lanka revenge of 96.
I hope what all I have written in this post is a fluke or just a coincidence. I don’t want millions of heart getting shattered if this comes true. With due respect to all the teams playing and competing, you all have given their best and all the best for the future. But don’t disrupt this beautiful game with all the politics and planning.
Money can’t buy you everything, but I guess this statement can be neglected from now.
